Going fishing and camping
Published by admin on July 19, 2010I hear the lakes and rivers are full of fishermen right now and they are catching a few. I haven’t had the time to wet a hook yet, but would like to soon. I like to fish for bass or catfish. If I don’t have much luck with them, just give me a few worms and I will fish for bream next to the shore. We use to go on week long camping trips around the lake that would give us the opportunity to fish for all types of fish and share stories around the campfire.
Have you ever fished or ate bream? I pronounce it “brim” but the proper spelling is bream. Bream or Brim are a very good eating fish and really the best tasting fish out of fresh waters. The big problem with bream is catching them large enough to eat. It is tough to find big bream, but when you catch them “eating size” then it’s fun fishing for all.
Kids love to bream fish and you get bites quick. Just put a small hook on and a little bit of a worm or cricket and they will tear it up all day long. Typically you just have to cast a few feet from the bank and the bream will find your bait. It’s easy to catch bream and the younger folks will fish for hours if they are getting bites from bream. Taking them to deeper waters and trying to land bigger fish takes patience and not all fishermen have the patience to wait for the big one to strike.
